Yang Yongxin is the vice president of Fourth People’s Hospital in Linyi City, Shandong Province, China, director of Yang Yongxin Internet Addiction Physical Therapy Center. Because his forced electroconvulsive therapy to addiction patients, he received widespread attention from the media and Internet users in China. Yang Yongxin\u2019s addiction therapy is analogous to “torture”, a strong pain made by using a large number of repeated electric shocks to the patients, and forced the patients to yield and ultimately subject to the will of their parents. These patients were sent the center by their parents. These parents think their children have a serious internet addiction problem and they cannot educate their children anymore, so they decided send their children to Yang Yongxin Internet Addiction Physical Therapy Center.

Recently, the Chinese media and social media are concentrated in Yang Yongxin\u2019s electroconvulsive therapy and its legality. I think that this thing not only exposed issue of missing children rights protection law in China, but also exposed the digital divide “Youth inefficiently use of the network in backward area” and ” parents\u2019s misunderstanding of internet” Urban-rural digital divide is not only reflected in coverage of the Internet, it is also reflected in people\u2019s purpose of using internet. In More developed regions teenagers will receive more education about internet, they know how to learn efficiently via the Internet. While in the more backward regions, teens are lack of these kind of education, most of them use the Internet to play games, watch videos and do other entertainment activities, and ultimately affect their studies. Since these parents are less accessing to the internet, it is difficult to have objective and comprehensive understanding of the Internet. Also because the negative impact of the Internet on children\u2019s study and school life, the parents have a very negative understandingly of internet. In some extreme cases, they think they have no choice but send their children to the Internet addiction physical therapy center and receive the electric shock “treatment”.<\/p>\n
